Hello, thank you for visiting…

I’m Muriel, an AMUSF accredited upholsterer with a background in textiles and fashion that loves bringing furniture back to life through upholstery.

I’ve always been drawn to working with my hands and restoring things, which is what led me into upholstery in the first place. I enjoy the balance of practical craftsmanship and creativity that comes with my work, and the fact that every project is a little different and comes with its own character, challenges, and opportunities to create something unique.

With a background in textiles and fashion, I have a particular appreciation for fabric, colour, and detail. I enjoy helping clients find the right balance between preserving a piece's history and giving it a fresh lease of life, whether that means a faithful restoration or a complete transformation.

If I’m not in my atelier with an upholstery tool in hand, you’ll probably find me with a coffee in hand instead—or slightly distracted by a promising chair left in a skip.

Past Projects

Close-up of a vintage wooden chair with floral upholstery fabric, showing colorful flower patterns on the cushion and backrest.
A wooden chair with a blue upholstered seat and a beige and gray plaid throw blanket draped over the backrest. To the left, there is a white shelving unit holding a potted fern plant. The wall behind the chair features a framed piece of art with bold black letters.
A sofa with a green floral patterned fabric backrest and armrests, and a black seat cushion, placed on a wooden floor. There is a poster and a hanging plant in the background, and some debris on the floor, indicating the sofa is being repaired or restored.
