How do I get an estimate?

Simply send photographs of your furniture, I will assess the piece and provide an initial estimate.

How much does it cost to reupholster?

As a guide, labour costs start from £450 for an armchair and £1,200 for a sofa.

These prices are for labour only and do not include the cost of fabric or other materials. A personalised quotation will be provided once your furniture has been assessed.

Can I bring my own fabric?

I don’t work with customer-supplied fabrics. I offer a thoughtfully selected range of fabrics, and there’s usually an option that’s perfectly suited to your piece and personal style.

Do I pay for fabric in advance?

Yes, you pay for fabric and 50% of the labour. On completion you will pay the remaining balance.

Can I drop off my piece at your atelier?

Yes. You're welcome to drop off your piece at my atelier, and there is convenient parking directly in front of the workshop.

Do you offer collection and delivery?

Yes, collection and delivery can be arranged. Please get in touch for details and pricing.

How long will my project take?

Timescales vary depending on the furniture and our current workload, but they are typically around 6–8 weeks. I will contact you as soon as your order is ready.

Do I need an appointment to visit the atelier?

Yes, all visits are by appointment only so I can dedicate time to discussing your project.

Can you restore antique furniture?

Yes, I work on both modern and antique furniture, taking care to preserve original features wherever possible.

What types of furniture do you upholster?

I upholster chairs, armchairs, sofas, dining chairs, footstools, headboards, and many other upholstered pieces.

Can I keep the old fabric and fillings from my piece of furniture?

Yes, absolutely. Just let me know before I start upholstering your furniture and I will make sure to retain the fabric and fillings for you.  

Do you charge for pick up and delivery?

I outsource pick-up and delivery to professional movers and I will build the cost into your quote. If you have a small piece of furniture that will fit in your car, there’s ample ‘drop off’ parking right outside my atelier.

Are you a member of a professional body?

Yes, I am a student member of the Association of Master Upholsterers and Soft Furnishers (AMUSF), currently training towards full diploma qualification.
